Kumi-what? Learn what all of the buzz is about! Kumihimo is a Japanese form of braid-making that is simple and easy to learn. Using a lightweight foam disc with 32 notches you can make an infinite variety of patterns. Kumi braids are often used in jewelry, keychains and eyeglass holders. These classes may be taken individually or as a series. The photos shown are examples only; participants will choose their own design kits. The materials fee includes a kumihimo disc, bobbins and weight that are yours to keep. If you already own these tools you may bring them and the instructor will discount the materials fee. In addition, the instructor will provide valuable tips and resources regarding tools, materials, where to shop and where to learn more. If you wear glasses or readers to see up close please bring them.
Intro to Kumihimo. Learn how to make the basic round 8 braid and turn it into your choice of a bracelet or keychain. No experience necessary.
